2020-2021

I competed in an event called: Sustainability Challenge. My focus was on microplastics and their impact on our drinking water. I ended up building a multicache around my home town. A multicache is a part of geocaching which is basically a world wide scavenger hunt. In each cache I included a information card on some element of the environment, what are microplastics, storm drains, other companies efforts and more. I won gold in the region, highest gold at state and 3rd in the nation.

If you care to learn more about my project this is the portfolio seen in the video :FCCLA Portfolio 2020-2021

2021-2022

Competing in the same event as last year, sustainability challenge. My goal is to take my findings from the previous year and reach a larger audience. So far I have created an Instagram account (@keepinitecofriendly) to reach that larger group of people. This account has an emphasis on global awareness and change. A major aspect I am trying to address is the misconception that one individual can't make an impact. I believe that is incorrect every small change is one step closer to the goal, a more sustainable life style.

Qualified for FCCLA Nationals by receiving Gold at State 2022.

One of the posts I did on my Instagram really emphasized my project's mission. Be the change you want to see in the world, but not only that know you can make a difference. Every little 1% you do better, improves the world.
